# Clean IP hosting
> Clean IP hosting means the address you receive is not present on spam or abuse blocklists. Incognito VPS checks its entire IPv4 pool against more than sixty real-time blocklists at allocation and every six hours thereafter, and replaces any address listed through no fault of the customer at no charge.

## Why offshore providers often have dirty address space

A provider that accepts every customer accumulates the customers nobody else accepts. Spam operations and phishing infrastructure generate blocklist entries quickly, and blocklists escalate from individual addresses to /24s to whole ranges. Once a /24 is listed, every legitimate customer in it inherits the reputation.

The result is the familiar problem where a technically fine server cannot deliver mail, is challenged by every CDN, and gets soft-blocked by half the services its owner needs. The address is the product defect, not the hardware.

## What we do about it

Enforcing an acceptable-use policy is the actual mechanism. Removing customers who generate listings is how the ranges stay clean; monitoring only tells you how bad it has already got.

On top of that: every address is checked against 60+ RBLs — Spamhaus SBL/XBL/PBL, SpamCop, Barracuda, SORBS, AbuseIPDB and others — before it is allocated, then re-checked every six hours. If your address is listed for traffic that is not yours, we swap it the same day at no cost and pursue the delisting ourselves.

| Field | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Blocklists monitored | 60+ |
| Check frequency | every 6 hours |
| Pre-allocation check | yes |
| Replacement if listed (not your fault) | same day, free |
| Additional addresses | $2.50/mo, separate /24 |
| rDNS / PTR | self-service, instant |

## If you plan to send mail

Ask before you buy. Some of our ranges have better sending reputation than others, and we will allocate from the right pool rather than let you discover the problem after the fact. Amsterdam and Zürich are the strongest for outbound mail; Moldova and Russia are the weakest and we will say so.

You will still need SPF, DKIM, DMARC and a PTR record that matches. rDNS is self-service and applies instantly.

## Frequently asked questions

### How do I know my IP is clean before I buy?

Ask on the contact page with your intended use and we will check a candidate address against the full blocklist set before allocating it. For mail specifically, always ask first.

### What if my IP gets listed later?

If the listing is not caused by your traffic, we replace the address the same day at no charge and pursue delisting ourselves. If it is caused by your traffic, we will tell you what triggered it.

### Can I set reverse DNS?

Yes, self-service and instant for every address on your account, IPv4 and IPv6. A matching PTR is mandatory for mail delivery.

### Which locations are best for sending email?

Amsterdam and Zürich have the strongest outbound reputation. Iceland and Switzerland are also good. Moldova and Russia are the weakest — usable, but expect more friction with the large mailbox providers.
